Dr Kasonde said once the general hospital was upgraded into a central hospital, it would offer specialised services to the public.
“Government will upgrade the Chipata General Hospital in 2015.This is to enable the hospital start offering specialised treatment to our people in Eastern Province,” Dr Kasonde said.
He explained that he was also in the province to check on the construction works on the Chipata District Hospital.
While in the province, the health minister was also expected in Vubwi for the groundbreaking ceremony of the district hospital.
