AN ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD boy of Kitwe yesterday appeared in the High Court on charges of murder.
The boy, a Grade three pupil has been charged with murder after he was accused of killing his nine-year-old friend.
He allegedly murdered Nyambe Mayamba on October 23, last year.
The boy appeared before High Court Judge Dominic Sichinga where he denied the charges.
He was in November last year held in police custody in connection with the suspicious death of his friend whose body was bundled in a sack by two men.
The two men had promised the accused child that he would be rich if he availed them his friend so that they could kill him.
The teenager convinced a friend to accompany him for a swim in the Copper Stream between Nkana East and Ndeke Village residential areas.
After swimming, the child allegedly handed over his friend to the two men, who killed him using an iron bar and put his body in a sack. The body was found floating in the stream.
The matter comes up on February 9 for hearing.
