By DELPHINE ZULU –
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has made four new appointments to the foreign service and challenged the appointees to justify their postings by delivering efficiently.
Mr Lungu appointed four designate ambassadors to France, Malaysia, Nigeria and Kenya.
Those appointed are France-designate Ambassador Humphrey Chibanda, who was chief of State protocol, and former Information permanent secretary Emmanuel Mwamba as High Commissioner to Malaysia.
Others are former deputy inspector-general of police Solomon Jere, designate High Commissioner to Nigeria, and High Commissioner to Kenya is former commissioner of police Brenda Muntemba-Sichilemba.
This is contained in a statement released by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda.
Mr Lungu emphasised that he was in a hurry to reposition Zambia in international affairs and he, therefore, expected robust performance from all Zambian envoys serving abroad.
“I expect very high performance from all those serving in the foreign service and will not tolerate misconduct and laziness from anyone. We are in hurry to deliver,” Mr Lungu said.
