ZAMBIA’S top golfers, Madalitso Muthiya and Dayne Moore posted impressive scores in the Tshwane Open Qualifier in South Africa but still failed to make it to the tournament proper.
In this Tshwane Open Qualifier played at the Irene Country Club, Muthiya fired three-under-par 69, one stroke shy of the cut of point.

Muthiya started poorly when he bogeyed number one but managed to birdie the second and went on to sink an eagle on the sixth before wrapping up the front nine with another birdie on the eighth.
The Lusaka golfer, who recently earned his second biggest pay cheque on the Sunshine Tour when he reaped R56,784 (about K34,070) at the Johannesburg Open, had three birdies in the last nine holes whose blemish were a double-bogey on the 14th and a bogey on the 11th.
As for Moore, he shot one-under-par 71 which was three strokes from the qualifying mark.
Other top Sunshine Tour campaigners who failed to qualify to the Tswana Open which started yesterday include 1996 Zambia Open champion, Desvonde Botes, Allan Versfeld, Ryan Tipping, Francesco Laporta, Grant Muller and Lindani Ndwandwe.
Muthiya, Moore and another Zambian, Bruce Chanda have also signed up for next month’s Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open before they return home for the Mopani Copper Mines/Redpath Mining Zambia Open Championship.
