LUSAKA Tigers won its third straight game to jump to third place on the FAZ Division-One South table to trail leaders Kabwe Warriors by three points following the fixtures played at the weekend.
Warriors are top with 13 points followed by Nampundwe on 12 points while Tigers are third with 10 points and this is the highest standing the club has reached in two years thanks to a 10th minute goal by coach Mwape Chanda’s son, Chibesa.
Katete Rangers saw their fortunes tumble at home barely a week after recording their first win, which was away at Matero United to remain on four points.

In Mongu, goals from Idris Mboombo and veteran and ageless Silon Jere kept Warriors’ nose in front of the pack as the won away to remain undefeated so far this season.
Nampundwe 2 Shockers 1
Nampundwe picked up a hard fought win over Zesco Shockers to move into third and announce their intentions of challenging for promotion to the elite league.
Meanwhile, as Shockers were losing ground on the table after suffering their first defeat, fourth-placed Riflemen also lost ground on Warriors after losing 2-0 away to Prisons Leopards to remain on nine points while Leopards jumped two places to seventh.
Kafue Celtic also had an invigorating win over Matero United whom they bashed 2-0 at Khosa Stadium to climb up five places on the table to ninth with six points.
City 0 Luena 0
City of Lusaka remained winless after drawing blanks against Luena Buffaloes in a match that saw coach Chris ‘Gaza’ Tembo work alone on the technical bench after this two assistants were sidelined.
The Chilenje/Woodlands based club remain third from the bottom with three points while Luena are eighth with six points.
Other results saw a scoreless draw recorded between Lusaka City Council (LCC) who were at home against Mumbwa Medics as well as Paramilitary who travelled to play promotion side Kalomo Jetters though Malaiti Rangers registered a scoring 1-1 draw away to Livingstone Pirates.
Zesco Luapula 0 Kansanshi 0
Kansanshi Dynamos maintained their top slot in the FAZ Division One North despite picking up a consecutive second draw.
But Kansanshi’s virgin draw at Zesco Luapula allowed Mufulira Blackpool to reduce the Solwezi side’s lead on the table to three points. Kansanshi are still in charge of the log of 11 points.

Mufulira Blackpool dented Konkola Mine Police’s dream of making a quick return to the top flight by beating them at John Yumba Kachofa Stadium.
In other Week Five games, Roan United boosted their chances of getting back to the Premiership with a morale-boosting 1-0 away win at Chambishi as Kalulushi Modern Stars reaped maximum points at Gomes in Ndola, winning 3-1.
Lumwana Radiants claimed a 2-1 victory over Chindwin Sentries as Copperbelt Buffaloes drew 1-1 with Real Nakonde while Indeni were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Mining Rangers in Ndola.
The rest of the results saw First Quantum Minerals grinding a 0-0 draw with Kitwe United and the scoreline was similar for Ndola United who forced a barren draw at Zesco Solwezi.
