2 bankers in court over K65,000 theft

TWO Standard Chartered Bank Choma branch employees have pleaded not guilty to stealing more than K65,000 from the bank.
In this matter, Nero Hamusuku, 45, of 1471 Showgrounds and Kenneth Mwangala, 52, of New Kalundu, both bankers of Choma, are jointly
charged with the offence of theft by servant.
Particulars are that, between December 31, 2014 and January 6, this year, in Choma, the two, being servants at Standard Chartered Bank Choma branch as bankers, jointly and while acting together, allegedly stole K65,750 cash the property of Standard Chartered bank, their employer.
When the matter came up before chief resident magistrate Willie Sinyangwe, the duo denied the charge.
The court would set a later date for commencement of trial. The two are on police bond.
