THE Zambia Golf Union (ZGU) has said it will take action on the petition by Kabwe Golf Club members against the executive committee.
The members have petitioned the executive committee to convene a special annual general meeting to determine the suitability of the Kamal Desai led leadership in the running of the affairs at the club.
Among the issues raised by the 23 petitioners, include the alleged thwarting of the constitution by allowing invalid nominations for elections in clear contrast to the legal provisions and the running of the club without trustees, a president and his vice which are vital to good governance.
ZGU honorary secretary Kelly Munsaka said yesterday that the union would soon move in to resolve the petitioners’ concerns.
He said the union had a role to see to it that all its affiliates operate in harmony to develop the sport.
Munsaka said the ZGU is yet to receive official communication from the petitioners to take appropriate action on the concerns raised.
