GLAMOUR LOGO -NANCYGREETINGS dear readers! I do hope you are well. I am dearly sorry for not writing last week as I had a family bereavement. However, I am back.

If you are active on Social Media or read a lot of Fashion magazines or websites you would have seen the word Beard Gang, which is basically what men who have beards call themselves.

Now not all beards look the same because different faces have different shapes as you can see from the graphic information below.

When you have a beard try and follow the same rules that you would follow if you had natural hair.

I canvassed the Internet to try and find you different tips on how to look after your beard.

Can you imagine that there is actually a website called beard.com dedicated to beards and their upkeep?

To trim a beard ensure that you have the right tools and the best way to do this is to talk to a barber or go to one and ask him what tools he uses.

Look for a beard trimmer or a hair scissors or purchase a pair of professional barber’s scissors.

Use a wide toothed comb not those tiny ones as they are apt to the hair on your beard, be careful and don’t pull when you comb it out.

Do not trim a wet beard like I said use natural hair tips, When hair is wet it is usually longer so if you trim it them you might find that you have trimmed too much off.

Wash and shampoo your beard regularly, try to stick to a really mild shampoo, (my friend swears by baby shampoo) or wash with conditioner (What’s called a co-wash in natural hair circles).

Beard.org advises the following; “Gently pat and wipe your beard dry with a towel. Blow drying is not really necessary and can be harsh on your skin.

Comb your beard and moustache with a wide-toothed comb to remove tangles. Optionally, you can finish up by using a brush.”

Use a lot of essential natural oils such as grape seed oil, coconut oil, avocado, jojoba oil, almond oil to keep it soft and growing plus the oils smell amazing.

Just remember to wet it a little before applying the oil as water is the best moisture while oil seals it in.

I love coloured beards but it does take some boldness and work.

Beard.org advises “It is harder to colour if you keep your beard very short. Medium to long growth is easier to colour. For example, as your beard is growing in, it will require more attention and colouring product.”

Follow the same rules of looking after a dyed beard as you would with dyed hair, head to my blog divadiarys.blogspot.com and look for my article on looking after dyed hair.

That’s it for this week lets chat in my mail box divadiarys@gmail.com as well as on my blog divadiarys.blogspot.com.

Follow me on Twitter @Arushapot and on Instagram with the same handle.

I will soon be giving away some goodies at salons and makeup companies so go like my Facebook page Nancy Handabile to stand a chance to win and buy the Sunday Times of Zambia.

I love you all thanks for your support, Stay beautifully healthy this week.
