CHAMPIONS Red Arrows posted an emphatic victory to humiliate relegated Prisons at their home turf in a National Rugby League (NRL) rescheduled Week 12 fixture played in Kabwe.
Arrows scored 13 tries and eight conversions to win with a bonus point to take their tally to 57 points and enjoy a 10-point lead over Nkwazi who compounded ‘Men At Work’ Diggers’ woes with a win to move into second place.
In Kabwe, Sydney Mwansapa and Musonda Kabwe scored a brace of tries each as Terry Kaushiku, Goodhope Mwewa, Enoch Mutembo, Mutinta Malambo, David Chalwe, Emmanuel Daka, Chungu Silupya, William Daka and Paston Chola scored a try each.
Kaushiku managed eight conversions as the champions maintained their unbeaten run as they hope to wrap up their campaign with their last rescheduled match against struggling Diggers on 26 points.
Diggers 14 Nkwazi 33
Diggers suffered their seventh league defeat of the season but are lucky to have survived the relegation drop while the win lifted Nkwazi into second place and four clear of Chibuluma.
Peter Lishika scored two tries with David Chimbukulu, Mathew Kashweka and Emilio Santucci contributing a try apiece as Laston Mukosha made the conversions while Diggers scored a try through Melvin Banda which Kelvin Changwe failed to convert but made up with three penalties.
Meanwhile, promoted Green Buffaloes were handed a 21-0 walkover win over Roan, who failed to make the trip to Lusaka owing to some financial challenges.
