THE Zambia Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) is lining up top muscleman Sylvester Mwila to compete at the 2016 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic billed for Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mwila recently took part in the 2015 Boksburg Classic in Johannesburg where he scooped a silver medal.
ZBBFF vice-president Brown Ng’ambi said in an interview that the federation was impressed with Mwila’s performance, hence the plans to consider the reigning Mr Ironman champion for the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic slated for May 2016.
“Mwila has been very impressive on the international front and as a federation, we are looking at something bigger. We are looking forward for him to represent the country at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic. We feel he is ripe to compete against the world’s best,” Ng’ambi said.
Meanwhile, ZBBFF has unveiled a K45,000 budget to host the 2015 Mr Independence Bodybuilding contest to be staged in Chingola.
Ng’ambi said the federation had since engaged the business community to source for funds ahead of the competition that will see Honest Muyupi defend the title.
He said Prospino Chishimba would be the chairperson of the Copperbelt events organising committee replacing Fred Ndemale, who has taken up the position of treasurer in the ZBBFF executive committee.
“I am happy to announce that preparations for the Mr Independence competition have already commenced and newly-appointed events organising chairman will start running around to seek for support,” he said.
