POWER Dynamos stayed second after a home win over relegation threatened Nakambala Leopards to cut Zesco United’s lead to four points.
Zesco lead the log with 46 points followed by Power while Zanaco are third with 39 points.
It was one-way traffic in the first half by Power against 10-man Nakambala but the home side failed to turn that dominance into goals with striker Martin Phiri the culprit after missing three great chances in the sixth, 10th and 25th minute.
The deadlock of this clash beamed live on SuperSport was broken in the 39th minute when Phiri redeemed himself after slotting in the ball in on the rebound when goalkeeper Moses
Mapulanga parried Julius Situmbeko’s free-kick into his path.
Situmbeko was also on hand for the final goal in the 68th minute when his cross was headed in on the far post by Emmanuel Chimpinde in the 58th minute.
Five minutes later, Nakambala were down to 10 men after 33rd minute substitute Floyd Phiri was sent off by referee Francis Lombe for a foul on Kennedy Mudenda.
The defeat the Patrick Phiri coached Nakambala side second from bottom with 10 matches left before their top flight fate is known.
