A FIFTY-YEAR-OLD woman of Chembe District in Luapula Province has been killed by her husband after a domestic quarrel.
Loveness Kaoma of Kazumba village in Chief Kasomalwela area died after she was beaten by her husband after the couple had a domestic dispute.
Luapula Province deputy police chief Webby Shula said the incident happened on Friday night before the suspect, who has not yet been identified, ran away.
Mr Shula said the case was reported by Moses Chilufya.
Meanwhile, police in Eastern Province have arrested two people believed to be accomplices of the Malawian armed robber who was recently arrested for motor vehicle theft.
Edison Kaziputa Mbewe, a Malawian, was recently arrested in Chipata in connection with the theft of motor vehicles in that country.
Eastern Province Police Chief Eugene Sibote said in an interview yesterday that Tizifa Daka, 40 , of Lusaka’s Bauleni Township and Jacks Nalube of Chilenje were arrested last week to help the police with investigations.
Police also recovered a pistol and K30,000 cash believed to have been stolen from a Chipata resident.
Mr Sibote said Mbewe was arrested after being involved in another armed robbery in Vubwi where it was later discovered that he was also part of a burglary in Mtenguleni where K4,000 was snatched.
Police in Lusaka recovered two vehicles suspected to be proceeds of crime and officers were currently looking for a third accomplice, James Ngulube, who was believed to be in Malawi.
