By MOSES CHIMFWEMBE –
THE Forest Rangers executive committee led by Richard Kalasa has been dissolved with immediate effect following a poor run of results.
An interim committee to be led by Ben Mukuka and Charles Kapoma as vice chairperson has since been put in place with Nicky Mwansa and Wisdom Musonda bouncing back as treasurer and secretary respectively.
Forest have lost five games in succession since returning from a mid season break and are just a point from the drop in 12th place with 23 points having lost 12 games, won seven and drawn two.
Kalasa, who confirmed the dissolution of his committee in an interview yesterday, said the move was in the best interest of the club.
He said the decision to dissolve the committee was arrived at yesterday during a meeting with Zambia Forestry and Industries Corporation Limited (ZAFFICO) managing director Fackson Sichone.
“I can confirm that our executive committee has been dissolved because of the team’s poor performance. I can only wish the incoming group all the best in their endeavours. Forest is a big team and I would not want it to end up in division one next season,” Kalasa said.
