Kalaba together with his TP Mazembe team-mates Nathan Sinkala and Kabaso Chongo were part of yesterday’s training session at the Heroes National Stadium along with keeper Kennedy Mweene of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Also in the team is France based defender Stopilla Sunzu, Aaron Katebe and Kondwani Mtonga while Armenia based midfielder Lubambo Musonda was expected to join the Chipolopolo in the afternoon.
Coach George Lwandamina is now waiting for the Israel duo Evans Kangwa and Emmanuel Mbola to complete his list of players summoned for the match Zambia needs to win to get qualification back on track.
Zambia fired blanks in the opening group game against Guinea Bissau which ended 0-0 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium while Kenya drew 1-all with Congo Brazzaville.
The Chipolopolo leaves for Nairobi on Friday for Sunday’s must-win clash and are expected back home the same day in readiness of the international friendly match against Gabon two days later.
Meanwhile, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) yesterday refused journalists full access to the Chipolopolo training session limiting coverage to 15 minutes and two minutes for photographers.
Security personnel were deployed at the stadium entrance, a move some FAZ official said was a worldwide trend which the association wants to adopt.
