Ms Wina said the economic challenges had affected many countries and it was important for Zambians not to lose sight of the development path the Government was taking.
She said the economic challenges that had affected many countries in the world, including Zambia, should be looked at as an opportunity for Zambians to continue working hard.
Ms Wina said the economic turbulence being experienced would at some point come to pass.
The Acting President said this during the grand finale of the Nyamuka Zambia Business Competition in Lusaka on Wednesday evening.
She was confident that the Nyamuka programme would help foster a community of entrepreneurs and underscore the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation to the economy coupled with job creation and a generation of equitable wealth to help citizens move out of poverty rankings.
“My Government believes that it is the responsibility of all of us to build the future of our nation through an entrepreneurial culture and attitude that is capable of taking risks and exercising leadership,” Ms Wina said.
After six months of intense preparation, workshops, business clinics and seminars, Nyamuka Zambia finally announced the winner of its business plan competition.
Judy Siyambango was unveiled as Zambia’s most promising entrepreneur and walked away with K250,000 as the first prize.
The winner was selected from a highly competitive pool of hundreds of applicants from across Zambia, and represented various sectors, including finance, agriculture, fashion and information communication technology.
