By SHAMAOMA MUSONDA –
MOZAMBIQUE captain Momed Hagi believes Zambia is beatable despite his side facing a mammoth task of overturning the 3-0 deficit suffered in the final round, return leg of the Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier.
Hagi expressed confidence that the Chipolopolo can be beaten at the 45, 000 sitter Machava Stadium when the two sides clash this Sunday.
The Mambas midfielder said the task looks impossible but was achievable especially when playing at home.
“We cannot give up. We are playing at home and we have an obligation to do, beat Zambia and why not fight to undo the disadvantage. It is difficult, but not impossible,” Hagi told the Mozambique publication Noticias Online.
Coach Helder ‘Mano-Mano’ Muianga has put belief of overturning the three goal deficit in the two strikers, who missed the away tie played in Ndola, to deliver this Sunday.
This has been supported by the Mambas training tactics over the last few days that have seen the squad focussing on an all out attack in their quest to reverse the scores and qualify for the finals.
Muianga said that though the task looks difficult, it was not impossible to overturn the 3-0 first leg score.
The two forwards Muianga will be counting on are Maninho and his strike partner Isaac Carvalho.
