PROFLIGHT Zambia has signed a sales and purchase agreement with South African (SA) Express to enable customers across the country make joint bookings.
Proflight director of government and industry affairs Phillip Lemba said the agreement would enable Proflight customers book flights to three destinations within the SA Express network.
This is contained in a statement issued by Langmead and Baker Limited and made available to the Times in Lusaka yesterday.
The SA Express network includes Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and East London, all of which are frequented by Zambian tourists, business executives, school-goers and academicians.
The latest move is expected to boost in-bound tourism to Zambia, attract more business travellers and make it easier for Zambian travellers, particularly children enrolled in South African boarding schools to travel with ease.
Captain Lemba said travellers would now be able to book flights from across Zambia to three destinations within the network under a new agreement.
Capt Lemba said under the agreement, customers would be able to make joint  Proflight Zambia-SA Express bookings which would be issued with a single combined ticket.
“This will enable unbroken connections to and from Proflight’s domestic destinations which are Lusaka, Ndola, Livingstone, Mfuwe, Solwezi, Kasama, and Lower Zambezi, as well as its two international routes, Lilongwe in Malawi and Durban in South Africa.
South Africa is an important hub for travellers in the region. This agreement with SA Express enables Proflight passengers to book seamlessly from anywhere in Zambia to Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and East London and indeed overseas travellers can book and travel straight to their final destinations within Zambia,” capt Lemba said.
