A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD man has been fined K5, 000 for impregnating and deflowering a 21-year-old girl.
Fridah Mukwaba, 49, of E95 Poor People of Zambia Township sued Thomas Musomali of the same area for damage.
Ms Mukwaba told the court that Musomali in 2011 damaged her daughter’s virginity and impregnated her.
She said when he was summoned, he accepted and promised to marry her and pay for damages but did not fulfill his promise.
Ms Mukwaba said her daughter eventually conceived until the child died.
She said later in 2013, she discovered that her daughter was again pregnant, after investigations, she discovered that the girl was impregnated by Musomali.
Ms Mukwaba asked the court to compel Musomali to pay for her daughter’s damage.
Abgail Chilibolu told the court that she had an affair with Musomali who impregnated her twice but did not pay for her damages.
Musomali told the court that he had started paying the money he was charged though he had a short-fall at some point.
Chililabombwe senior local court Magistrate Bernard Simwanza ordered Musomali to compensate K5, 000 to Ms Mukwaba by paying K250 per month in installments.
