“Our Government has rendered financial support to enable us retrain police officers in readiness for the forthcoming general elections,” he said in a speech read for him by Commissioner of Police, administration, Standwell Lungu.
Mr Kanganja directed all police officers to be professional, firm and fair in policing the general elections.
He also urged police officers to read and understand the Public Order Act, the Electoral Act, Electoral Code of Conduct, and police handbook on policing elections in Zambia.
“I am warning police officers countrywide that I will not take kindly to any unprofessional conduct in the execution of their duties.
“Any officer found wanting shall be dealt with promptly and accordingly,” he said.
He thanked the 38/39 intake of 2006 for their donations to build the classroom block.
