TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD Munsanda Gumboh last Friday scooped this year’s Miss Mulungushi University which was held at Chabalesa hall at the Kabwe-based campus.
At a ‘beauty and brains’ fashion parade held under the theme ‘Revealing Rare Beauty- A Relevant , Accountable, Responsible and Ethical Lady’, young Gumboh outclassed seven other finalists to be crowned winner.
The position of 1st princess was awarded to Edna Kasongo Yumbe, 20, while the position of 2nd princess went to Kamisa Matepeta aged, 19.
Promising model Subusisiwe Mwiinga, 20, was voted as Miss Personality.
Miss International Zambia Brandina Lubuli who was one of the judges said “Being a model is not just about the looks. There is so much more involved.
“I will advise models in Zambia to know who they are, why they want to be models, what it takes to be a different model who always stands out,” Brandina said.
She said many models in Zambia had lost respect as they were not considered and treated right because of their attitude, behaviour, personality, character, dress code, language or habits.
She advised girls, particularly models to “stay true, be yourself, don’t change for anyone or anything. It doesn’t matter how you look like. God knows why he created you that way. Low self-esteem can cost your life’’.
The event was spiced up with music performances by Macky 2 and Chefy 187 who dished out their household songs.
