THE 2016 Miss Heritage Zambia finalists have finally been selected to compete for the ultimate crown this year.
The winner will also represent the country at the Miss World heritage which will be held in South Africa in November.
The 11 contestants that have been selected are Janet Muchindu, Maria Chibula, Lucy Malindi, Charity Mwanza, Natasha Mapulanga, Clara Mutale.
Others are Munda Hademu, Luwi Kawanda, Dorcus Nyirongo, Sara Namonje and Lucy Chisanga.
So far,  the contestants have already competed in the talent show as a build-up activity lined up ahead of the grand finale next week.
The talent show last weekend at Dolphin Restaurant was in high spirit as young women  showcased their diverse gifts.
According to the Pageant Director Noami Banda, the crowned winner of the beauty pageant is expected to promote Zambia’s intangible and tangible heritage.
Noami said the pageant aims at selecting an outstanding young lady who can be innovative and productive to spear head and provide general awareness about Zambia’s tourist attractions.
And the grand winner of the beauty pageant will be Zambia’s envoy to Miss Heritage World this year.
She explains that the pageant was founded on the basis to  incorporate all nations, all religions and all people from different backgrounds to be involved in the process of initiating positive change in the world through the use of world heritage.
And currently, it has over 50 countries  franchised to participate at this World Finals.
