THE United Party for National Development (UPND )in Kalulushi has assured the electorate that the party will maintain peace before, during and after the August 11 general elections.
Kalulushi District UPND information and publicity secretary, Denis Mucele said the party had resolved to promote and maintain peace before, during and after elections.
Mr Mucele said this after appearing before the District Conflict Resolution Committee at Kalulushi Civic Centre on Wednesday.
This was after some UPND members dragged Independent candidate for mayoral position Anthony Mwila to the committee for placing his campaign materials next to those of the UPND.
Mr Mucele said the UPND believed in co-existence.
“I want to express my happiness for the cordial discussion we had in the meeting. The meeting was very good and we resolved everything in a brotherly way,” he said.
Mr Mwila, who was accompanied by his supporters, commended the Conflict Resolution Committee and UPND members who attended the meeting for resolving the matter amicably.
