A BRICKLAYER in Lusaka has been crushed to death after a wall-fence, he was demolishing fell on him in Emmasdale Tonwhsip.
April Phiri, 49, an employee of Quorum Construction Company, met his fate at around 10:50 hours on Conakry Road yesterday, in the company of other workers, while attempting to demolish the fence to pave way for the construction of another structure.
Police public relations officer Esther Katongo said this in a statement yesterday.
Ms Katongo said Mr Phiri was of an unknown address, but in Chaisa Township and his body is in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Meanwhile, Police in Kabwe have arrested a 42-year-old man of Munyama Farm for allegedly murdering his son during a family squabble.
Central Province Police Chief Lombe Kamukoshi said the Prospect Police arrested Kennedy Kambeu on Monday, after his son, he had beaten, died as a result of injuries.
Kambeu beat up his son after a family difference last week, but due to unprecedented body pains the son died later on Monday.
“The case was reported to Prospect Police Station by Rose Chiduku, 33, a Shona by tribal of Munyama Farm that her son was beaten by the father on February, 2 this year around 19:00 hours using a stick,” she said.
Ms Kamukoshi said the deceased sustained a painful back and a bruised abdomen before his death.
Meanwhile, two armed bandits staged a robbery in Kabompo, North-Western Province, shooting and injuring a shop attendant and getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash, reports SYLVIA MWEETWA  AND  ESTHER NG’ANDU.
The 26-year-old shop attendant is nursing injuries at a local hospital after he was allegedly shot and wounded as the attackers opened fire after he resisted.
North Western Police Chief Auxensio Daka said the incident happened around 17:30hours at an MTN agent shop at Musamba trading area.
Mr Daka identified the victim as Patrick Mazau, who was shot in the left thigh and that investigations were underway.
In another development, unidentified pedestrians died on the spot after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle in Kyansunununu area of Solwezi district.
Mr Daka said the vehicle was being driven by a woman only identified  as Mwangala, 45, of Riverside in Kabompo, who, while driving a Toyota Hilux registration number ALC 9962, hit the deceased.
