THE initiative taken by the Professional Teachers Union of Zambia to sensitise teachers country wide on a number of policy issues is a very welcome move.
For the past 12 years we have never had a general meeting with trade union national leaders here on the Copperbelt.
We have appreciated and benefited from the meeting held here in Luanshya on Saturday where we discussed a number of issues.
Awareness in form of worker education is a very important duty any well meaning trade union should embark on.
Failure to that, there is no need to belong to that union.
I am therefore encouraging the leadership of this young and vibrant union to forge ahead and remain focused.
Only failures will take offense of your noble cause.
