GOSPEL songbird Mwizukanji Namwawa – famously known as Kanji – last weekend married her lover Derrick Nyambe.
The artiste said “I do” at a colourful wedding held at Inter-Continental hotel in the presence of a few friends and family members.
Namwawa’s music career dates back to 2001 when she started singing professionally.
The artiste was then into secular music.

She later resurfaced in 2014 as a gospel singer after which she released an album titled ‘Zanga’.
But Namwawa seems to have lost some of the musical lustre she had when she first stepped on the local music scene although she stills commands a respectable following.
The songbird is known for songs such as ‘Mr Big Star’ and ‘Chi Daddy’ which are still considered great songs up to date.
The singer took a break from music for sometime to study law.
She is currently serving in the Zambia Army.
Namwawa has joined a list of female gospel artistes like Suwilanji and Franciar who in 2016 opted for marriage.
