PATRIOTIC Front (PF) national youth chairperson Stephen Kampyongo has assured youths that the Government will continue empowering youths in efforts to improve living conditions among the young people.
He said this in Lusaka yesterday during the Munali Constituency PF indoor youth mobilisation function in Mtendere Township.
Mr Kampyongo who is also Home Affairs Minister, gave a K75, 000 check towards youth empowerment programmes in Munali Constituency.
He said the PF leadership respected youths and would work closely with young people regardless of their station in life so that youths could be empowered to lead and increase their incomes.
“I want to assure you that the PF will go with you all the way. We will share your poverty and work with you so that you also grow,” he said.
Mr Kampyongo implored the youths to be disciplined and avoid infighting to help build the party into a formidable force ahead of the 2021 general elections.
He called on the youths to be united and recruit new members into the party as this was vital to growing the PF.
Mr Kampyongo said the PF could not grow if it did not attract new members, adding that the ruling party had resolved to field President Edgar Lungu in 2021 but others were free to contest the party presidency.
He said the spirit of unity was what helped founding PF leader the late Micheal Sata win the 2011 general elections as he welcomed people from other parties in his quest to grow the PF.
Msanzala PF Member of Parliament Peter Daka, who represented area MP Nkandu Luo emphasised the need for discipline, unity and love among the youths for the PF to maintain its hold in the Constituency.
Mr Daka urged the youths to desist from vices like gossip and infighting as this would destroy the party.
