Lungu appoints deputy ministers

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has re-appointed Matero Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament (MP) Miles Sampa as Commerce, Trade and Industry deputy minister.

Mr Sampa is among several other former deputy ministers who have retained the portfolios they held under late President Michael Sata albeit in different ministries.
President Lungu has also recalled Lukashya PF MP Alfreda Kansembe who has been appointed Labour and Social Security deputy minister.
The appointments were announced on the State House press office Facebook page yesterday.
Ms Kansembe was dropped as Home Affairs deputy minister by Mr Sata last year.
President Lungu has however left the position of deputy minister in the Ministry of Finance vacant.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has dropped Nkana PF MP Luxon Kazabu and his Mpongwe counterpart Gabriel Namulambe from Government.
Mr Kazabu is former Agriculture and Livestock deputy minister while Mr Namulambe was Foreign Affairs deputy minister.
Mr Lungu has appointed Shiwang’andu PF MP Stephen Kampyongo and his Lupososhi counterpart Bwalya Chungu as deputy ministers in the office of the vice president.
Chilanga MMD MP Keith Mukata has retained his position as Justice Deputy Minister while Chinsali PF MP Christopher Mulenga has been appointed Defense deputy minister.
Former Transport deputy minister Panji Kaunda is now Home affairs deputy minister and will work together with Kanyama PF MP Gerry Chanda who has been appointed to the similar post in the same ministry.
Mansa Central PF MP Chitalu Chilufya has retained his post as Health deputy minister while Kalulushi PF MP Rayford Mbulu has been moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Ministry of Labour.
Itezhi-Tezhi UPND MP Greyford Monde has retained his post in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and is joined by Kaputa PF MP Maxus Ng’onga as another deputy in the ministry.
Pambsahe PF MP Ronald Chitotela has been appointed Sports deputy minister while Luwangeni independent MP Charles Zulu and Wusakile PF MP Richard Musukwa have retained their respective portfolios in the Mines, Energy and Water development Ministry.
Nyimba constituency PF MP Forrie Tembo is new Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister while his Mwense counterpart David Mabumba has been given a similar position in the Ministry of Education.
Mr Lungu has appointed Chifubu Central PF MP Susan Kawandami and her Kanchibiya constituency counterpart Davis Mwango, as deputy ministers’ in the Ministry of Lands.
MMD Kapoche MP Nicholas Banda and Danny Chingembu are deputy ministers in the Local Government and Housing Ministry while Patrick Ngoma and Esther Banda have been appointed deputy ministers in the Ministry of Tourism and Arts.
John Kufuna has been appointed deputy minister in the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional affairs while Dorothy Kazunga and Joseph Lungu are deputy ministers for Gender and Child Development.
UPND Sinazongwe MP Richwell Siamunene and Mutaba Mwali are deputy ministers in the Ministry of Transport, Works, Communication and Supply while Obvious Chisala and Josephine Limata will both hold similar positions in the ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health.
