By CHUSA SICHONE in Mansa –
MANSA Catholic Diocese Emeritus Aaron Chisha, is optimistic that Zambia will overcome its economic challenges through prayer.
Bishop Chisha, 81, who clocked 50 years of priesthood in August this year, said this when he addressed journalists in Mansa  after holding mass at the Mansa Diocese Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary yesterday.

This was after Mansa Central Member of Parliament Chitalu Chilufya paid a courtesy call on him.
Bishop Chisha said Government was trying its level best to improve people’s livelihoods despite facing numerous challenges and that God’s intervention through prayer would help the country address the existing challenges.
“We thank you very much for what you are doing to execute your duty which is by no means easy, but God being with us, I think things will change for the better.
“The economic problems we are meeting I think they will be solved. God is with us and with the people cooperating, I think these problems are not insurmountable, they will be overcome,” he said.
He paid tribute to late President Michael Sata’s developmental vision and was hopeful that God would guide President Edgar Lungu to continue from where President Sata left and achieve more.
During the church service, Bishop Chisha urged the congregants to cultivate a culture of giving as God blessed a giving hand.
Dr Chilufya said prayer was important as it was the only way of drawing energy to do everything and that everything good began and had its final point in God.
Bishop Chisanga, who embraced President Lungu’s declaration of yesterday as the National Day of Repentance, Prayer and Fasting, said people needed to pray because they believed in the power  of prayer and not doing so to show off or for others to see them.
